Bride and groom sharing a joyful moment during their wedding at Chatelherault in Hamilton

Maryellen And Thomas’ Wedding

Weddings don’t have to be big to be powerful. This intimate celebration at Chatelherault, just outside Hamilton, Scotland, was a perfect reminder of that.

It was just the couple and a handful of their closest family members. No crowd, no fuss, just love in its most honest form. Chatelherault itself brought such charm to the day: a grand old hunting lodge with dramatic interiors, rolling grounds, and a real sense of place. The kind of venue that doesn’t need dressing up.

They shared their vows surrounded by history, connection, and quiet emotion. After the ceremony, we wandered the grounds for portraits, letting the building’s texture and soft Scottish light shape the story. Then it was back inside for afternoon tea, laughter, and relaxed conversations, a celebration that felt deeply personal.

It’s days like these that remind me why I do this. Whether it’s a big ceilidh or a small gathering in a historic lodge, the heart of every wedding is the same: people showing up fully for one another. And that’s always worth capturing.
