Oli and Andrea’s Skye Elopement

Skye always has a surprise up its sleeve. When we headed out for the ceremony spot, the sun was beaming, so of course none of us brought jackets. Classic mistake. A sudden downpour caught us halfway there, soaking everyone just long enough to matter, before the clouds cleared and golden light spilled across the hills.

That fleeting rain? It added something. Not drama for the sake of it, but a reminder that this was real and alive. Oli and Andrea laughed through it, held on tight, and kept walking — just how you’d hope a love story unfolds in the wild.

As they spoke their vows among cliffs and heather, with light you couldn’t plan for, it felt like the landscape joined them. No posing, no staging. Just two people completely present, come rain or shine.

That’s the magic of an elopement on Skye. It doesn’t need to be polished. It just needs to be honest. The soaked hair, muddy boots, and bursts of sunlight became part of a story they’ll never forget. For me, that’s what it’s always about: not just how it looked, but how it felt.
