It’s Surprisingly Easy to Get Married in Scotland
One of the best things about eloping in Scotland? You don’t need to be a resident to legally marry here. You can hold your ceremony almost anywhere — on a windswept clifftop, beside a loch, or in a cosy Airbnb if the weather takes a turn.
To elope legally, you’ll need to submit some forms (a Marriage Notice at least 29 days before the wedding) and have a registered celebrant and two witnesses. It’s all pretty straightforward once you’ve chosen your location and celebrant — and many couples work with a celebrant who can guide them through it.
