Your Edinburgh wedding photographer.

BASED IN EAST KILBRIDE. HAPPY TO TRAVEL.

I’ll be straight with you. I don’t live in Edinburgh. I’m based in East Kilbride, about an hour along the M8.

The drive is easy, and I’m always happy to come through. Before the day, we’ll talk through your venue and your plans, so I know the timings, the quiet corners and where to go if the rain comes on.

That means less time working things out on the day, and more time for you to be with your people.

Meeting up is easy too. A coffee in town, a video call, or a walk round your venue. Whatever suits you best.

EASY TO REACH
About an hour along the M8. No drama and no big travel plans.

CITY OR COUNTRY
From Old Town venues to country houses in the Lothians.

CALM ON THE DAY
No shot list and no clock-watching. I follow your day as it happens.

Consider me a wedding FRIEND with a camera.

And then you can just be.

Hi, I’m Steven. I’m a documentary wedding photographer based in East Kilbride, and I cover weddings right across Scotland, Edinburgh included.

Most couples tell me the same thing over that first coffee. We hate having our photos taken. If that’s you, you’re in good company.

I work quietly. I follow the day as it unfolds and photograph what actually happens. The deep breath before you walk in. Your granny on the dance floor. The two of you sneaking a minute alone on the cobbles.

When a little guidance helps, I’ll give it. Then I step back and let you get on with your day.

I take on only a handful of weddings each year, so I can give each one my full attention.

The first coffee is on me. No contracts until we both know it’s a fit.

What it actually looks like

Some galleries now include a little movement too. Short clips alongside the photos, at no extra cost. Just another way to hold onto the day.

AN EDINBURGH WEDDING

YOU, NOT THE BACKDROP

For couples who want their photos to feel real.

Edinburgh is a beautiful place to get married. The old stone, the closes and wynds, the castle watching over it all. It’s easy for wedding photos to become all about the scenery.

I’d rather they were about you. The city is there, but your people come first.

Picture yourselves a year on. The photos on your wall show the day as it really felt, not just how pretty the view was.

Years from now, they’ll still feel like the day itself.

FAQ

Got Questions?

Family group shots, yes. We plan a short list before the day and get them done in about 15 minutes. Then intentional portraits, fifteen to thirty minutes with off-camera flash, just the two of you. A little guidance, a few prompts, then you’re just yourselves again. The rest of the day, I photograph what actually happens.

We meet for a coffee first, on me, so we both know it’s a good fit. Then a 20% deposit and contract secures your date. The rest is due four weeks before the wedding, and payment plans are no bother.

Elopements are £850, half days £1,000, full days £1,600 and The Full Story is £2,000. No hourly clock, no hidden extras.

A handful of sneak peeks land within 24 hours. Your full gallery is ready within two weeks, with as many photos as it takes to tell your story, each edited naturally. Every couple also gets a private online premiere of their slideshow, with the gallery landing the moment it ends.

Most of my couples are. That’s why I like to meet up before the day, and an engagement shoot helps too if you fancy one. By the wedding I’m a familiar face rather than a stranger with a lens.

More than okay. Lots of my couples are introverts, anxious, or wired a bit differently. Tell me what helps. Knowing the plan in advance, quieter moments, less time in the spotlight. I’ll work around you, not the other way round. Nobody needs to perform.

I’m based in East Kilbride, about an hour from Edinburgh. I cover the city, the Lothians and the rest of Scotland, plus northern England. We’ll confirm any travel details before you book.

LET’S GRAB A COFFEE

Tell me a little about your day. You’ll get a quick email to say it’s arrived, then I’ll check my diary and come back to you about your date. The first coffee is on me, in Edinburgh or wherever suits you. No hard sell, and no obligation. If I’m not the right fit, I’ll happily point you towards someone who is.

Coffee, video call or just email. Whatever feels easiest. Don’t have a date booked yet? Still get in touch, I’m happy to chat before anything’s confirmed. Prefer email? hello@steven-mitchell.com works just as well.
